Memory foam was first developed by NASA in the 1970s for space missions and then marketed as a medical material. Soon it became popular for mattress manufacturing because of its hypoallergenic and anti dust mite features, making them safe for children and adults who suffer from allergies or asthma. They also offer fantastic pressure relief and gives spine alignment, allowing you to wake-up fresh every day
Choosing a Perfect Memory Foam Mattress
Most memory foam mattresses come with a layer of memory foam on top of a support material such as springs or High-Density Polyurethane. Thicker the layer of memory foam, more supportive and luxurious mattress is. As a general rule, for a heavier person, choose a mattress with thicker memory foam layer and reduce it for a particularly lighter person. Another thing to consider is the density of memory foam. Denser memory foam, the firmer the mattress will feel. There are common complaints that memory foam retains body heat. It is great if you like to sleep cozy and warm at night, but not so great if you sleep better in cooler environments.
